Black History Month Celebration

February 2026 was a month filled with celebration, reflection, and academic growth for our Chimera Community. We honored Black History Month with meaningful learning experiences that celebrated the remarkable contributions of African Americans to our nation's history, culture, and progress.

Throughout the month, our schools featured weekly spotlights on inspiring figures including Ruby Bridges (Pioneers of Change), Garrett Morgan(Innovators & Inventors), John Lewis (Leaders & Visionaries), and Amanda Gorman (Continuing the Legacy).

The second marking period concluded on February 3rd, with report cards made available through Genesis on February 9th. Our staff also participated in a professional development day on February 4th, continuing their commitment to excellence in education.

Thank you for your partnership throughout this special month!

With Chimera Pride,
Marti Hill-Parker
Acting Superintendent of Schools
